There are stuck-on headbands constructed with cores of laminated leather and vellum, covered with silver Japanese decorated paper.
The binding was covered in calfskin and goatskin dyed with Roda NF dyes.
The decoration features inset panels of shell veneer, leather, and wood veneer sealed with padded shellac, along with with gold and palladiumlines.
The binding was titled on the spine in gold on leather panels.
The binding is contained in a single tray cloth box with magnetic closures.
