Gershom Bukeley’s People's Right to Election, printed in 1689, is in original condition, with several thin folded sections stab sewn in the gutter. The untrimmed edges are soiled, torn and ragged, with many small losses.
This was a stabilization project, meant to alter the original condition of the pamphlet as little as possible. The leaves were dry cleaned before the many creases and folds were humidified and flattened. The edges were reinforced with thin kozo paper using wheat starch paste.
Conserved in 2019.
