The conservation of Edmund Dulac’s Fairy-Book, London, c. 1905.
This original publisher’s decorated cloth binding was in good condition but for a loose spine and shaken joints.
The original spine was removed, and the spine was cleaned mechanically.
The binding was rebacked with heavyweight kozo paper using wheat starch paste.
The mends were colored with acrylics pigments to match the original binding.
