Unique book sculpture: Abstract 19, 2013.
This unique book sculpture was constructed from seven single bifolios of 180 gm. New India Office paper made by Ruscombe Mill.
The line drawings were executed with red and black .03 Pigma pens. Holes were punched in the leaves. The title and author and date were stamped on the front leaf using metallic foil.
The sections were sewn individually in a single loop to the alum-tawed goatskin backplate using a 3-ply linen cord.
The backplate extends to form a clasp around the textblock, with rare earth magnets sandwiched between panels of board covered in copper colored metallic Japanese paper.
