The general laws and liberties of the Massachusets Colony, Cambridge, 1672.

This volume was received in a badly worn binding contemporary with the date of printing.

The leather was degraded and pitted due to
original decorative sprinkling with acidic dyes.

The leather was chemically consolidated
to prevent further degradation.

The spine was lined with long-fibered tissue
extending under the original cover leather.

The original spine was re-adhered and the joints were covered with feathered tissue colored with acrylics.

This repair stabilized the book for use
with minimal alteration of the contemporary binding, resulting in little visual evidence of the repair.
