Edmund Dulac’s Fairy-Book, London: Hodder and Stoughton, no date of publication.

This original publisher’s decorated cloth binding was received with a partally loose spine and shaken joints.

The original spine was removed and the spine was cleaned mechanically. The board cloth along the spine edge was lifted, as were small areas under the turn-ins at the spine. The spine was lined with Kizukishi using wheat starch paste. The spine was lined with Rives Heavyweight buff paper using wheat starch paste. A one-on two-off hollow tube was constructed from Arches paper and adhered with Jade 403 PVA.

Rebacked with handmade Okawara tissue using wheat starch paste. The tissue was colored with fluid acrylics to match the original spine, which was re-adhered with Jade 403 PVA. All the lifted cloth was re-adhered with Jade 403 PVA.

Date of treatment: 2015
