John Dee was a mathematician and astrologer in Elizabethan England. His diary, kept sporadically over decades, contains moments of everyday life as well as cryptic events that defy understanding. This binding expresses Dee’s fascination with the geometric and mechanical mysteries of the universe.

Full alum-tawed goatskin binding with an onlaid design of multi-colored leathers.
Sewn on meeting guards with gray Morgan Conservatory endsheets.
Pink silk back bead headbands.
Titled in metallic foil.
Edge-to-edge paper doublures.
Signed in gold on the lower doublure.
