Dos-a-dos binding. Double bifolio endsheets made from Griffen Mill Falcon 80 gm. laid paper with leather hinges. The flyleaves and pastedowns were decorated with 23 ct. gold leaf. The textblock was sewn all along on two frayed cords using 18/3 linen thread. The edges were left untrimmed, and gilt in the rough with 23 ct. gold leaf. After lacing the boards on boards on, the spines were covered in black goatskin and bone white goatskin. The covers were decorated with wood and paua shell veneers, then tooled in 23 ct. gold leaf.
